Ada pepatah lama: “steer the water to catch fish.” Maksudnya, bikin air jadi keruh supaya ikan gampang ditangkap.

There’s an old saying: “steer the water to catch fish.” It means muddying the water so the fish become easier to catch. In politics, this tactic is common — create chaos first, then step in to profit. But it happens at work too. Sometimes a boss or coworker looks for small problems just to justify blocking promotions or cutting bonuses.

I once saw something funnier: two manipulators met each other. Instead of working together, they ended up in a skill duel. Today A showed off, tomorrow B flipped the game. From afar it looked balanced, but it was only toxic balance. Their teams were exhausted while I just sat back, sipped my coffee, and watched the free drama unfold.
And that’s where Joshua’s children’s song suddenly sounds profound: “diobok-obok the water, the little fish get dizzy.” Think about it — when the water is stirred, the little fish suffer first. Just like in workplaces, the innocent subordinates end up paying the price for their bosses’ drama.
Akhirnya? Mereka tarik urat, aku tarik selimut. Dari luar tampak serius, padahal isinya cuma saling menjatuhkan. Alih-alih dapat untung, malah rugi sendiri. Aku? Tidur nyenyak, rejeki tetap jalan lewat jalur yang nggak mereka duga.
In the end? They pulled their veins, I pulled my blanket. It looked intense from the outside, but really, they were just dragging each other down. Instead of gaining anything, they ended up losing more. Me? I slept soundly, and blessings still found their way through paths they never expected.
👉Kalau air keruh bikin ikan kecil mabok, jangan ikut nyemplung. Nikmati kopimu, tarik selimutmu, dan biarkan berkat datang tanpa drama.
